Aix les Bains Via Ferrata – Col du Chat

The Col du Chat via ferrata is located in Savoy above the Bourget lake. It takes place on the rock of Cornillon under the Dent du Chat. Although it is not difficult, it remains quite impressive because we climb above the void!

Departure from the Col du Chat

Meet at the Col du Chat, above Aix les Bains, just 25 minutes from Chambery and 45 minutes from Annecy. Your guide will be waiting for you there and will help you get equipped: harness with via ferrata lanyards and a helmet!

To access the via ferrata, you must first walk a little. Leave slowly because the climb is steep and lasts about thirty minutes ...

Arrived at the start you will only have to listen to the instructions of your instructor who will explain how to use your lanyards to stay well insured at the lifeline.

Barely started, you will find under your feet a lot of emptiness, several tens of meters under your feet. Stay focused, everything will be fine!

You put your feet both on the rock or on bars or on long beams suspended in the void.

The course goes around the rock and the climbing is done mostly crossing. Halfway through, we will have to climb down using a ladder which is overturned facing the void!

Just after the ladder you will pass in a small cave, an original passage!

We keep going with great stretches of climbing and a monkey bridge. At the top, you can go and enjoy the view.
