The Boîte aux Lettres Angon canyon will make you discover the lower part of the canyon of Angon. Renowned for its beautiful waterfalls and lush forest, the Angon canyon offers you a superb discovery of canyoning.
Neither too short nor too long, the descent itself lasts an hour and a half. It’s ideal for a first canyoning experience. We recommend this outing to anyone who wants to get started in canyoning.
Before going in the Canyon
Our team welcomes you to its canyoning base which is located at the foot of the Canyon d'Angon, on the shores of Lake Annecy. Angon is a small village 30 minutes from Annecy nestled on the waterfront just after Talloires. You can reach us by car, by bike via the cycle path, or even by boat or bus.
By coming to us, you can take the opportunity to spend a beautiful day at the water's edge. Picnic, idleness, sunbathing and swimming in the lake, there is a beautiful little beach right next to our canyoning base.
Finally, you will equip yourself with your guide in a neoprene suit, a helmet and a harness. Then you will leave on foot in the direction of the Canyon.
After a short 20 minute walk, you will be at the start of the Canyon. Before starting the descent, your guide will give you a briefing to explain the safety instructions and techniques for abseiling, jumping, walking, swimming or sliding.

In the Canyon
You will start the canyon of Angon by the famous toboggan of the Boîte aux Lettres (mailbox). Then for an hour and a half, short portions of walking and swimming will punctuate the outing with three abseiling descents. Under the waterfalls or on the walls, you will descend using a rope either independently or with your instructor. The second and highest abseiling is 18 meters, the other two are about ten meters. Even if you have never abseiled, your guide will be there to teach you the right things and reassure you.
The Boîte aux Lettres Angon canyon also has several nice slides and also a few jumps (5 meters maximum depending on the conditions). If you don't like jumping, you can always go on a slide... The canyon ends at the top of the old dam, you can reach the base on foot in less than 10 minutes.
